The Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo is one of the best local events in Metro Vancouver for a geek like me. I’ve had the privilege of designing the poster for the show for the past two years (and I’ll be doing next year as well), and it’s always a fun collaboration with Brian, who runs the show.

This year we wanted to bring that nostalgia to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System’s release. I created a logo styled after the Nintendo Power magazine, and an illustration of a pretty well known Italian plumber’s sibling illuminated by the glow of a massive console television.

Not to toot my own horn too much (hey, this is my portfolio, so what else am I gonna do?), but I think I nailed the vibe. Check out the full poster and illustration to see if you can find all the Easter Eggs we hid…
